Pre-soaking and removal of strip flooring boards

The rimu strip flooring was high quality, having been carpeted and without any signs of borer. However, it was very dry, making removal without splitting difficult. Thus, the entire floor area was wetted and left soaking for three days while other work was completed. This ensures that the rimu flooring is able to be removed intact. The flooring is then cut into sections, in preparation for hoisting by digger to a clear working space. The floor joists are then separated from the strip flooring, with both being salvaged.
